Photography:
The Past 50 Years
I’ve been a documentary photographer for 50+ years and have images in the permanent collections of several museums, including the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
I want to give back to the craft by writing occasional blogs about my experiences because skills other than your knowledge of f/stops and shutter speeds may determine whether you get the shot, or whether you are even given a chance to get the shot. At times overt action is required. Other situations require subtle, unspoken messages. I can’t be a one-trick pony and take the photos I want to take.
Hopefully my blog articles will be helpful to photojournalism students and others. I’m starting with a few on my How I Shot Blog page, with more to come.
A sample portfolio of my work is below.
